One Year Later

So much has happened since the last blog. Asher turned one!! We had his birthday on the 10th, which was actually Ryans birthday. My parents flew out to enjoy the week with us and help out for the birthday party. We had tons of fun!

When they first got in we drove down to this little artsy town that we had never been too. It was a really neat little place to walk around. We bought a few things there, had a drink at a restaraunt, almost died after we saw some prices on art work and then we decided to head back. My dad brought his wonderful GPS and used it to get us home since I didn't know where we were. Not only did that thing get us lost and add time to our traveling it almost killed us! Well not really but it took us through this winding narrow road up a mountain. There wasn't a railing to keep us from falling, it was just cliff. I just kept praying to Jesus. I knew he would save us;)

On Saturday was Ashers birthday party. We had lots of food, a Hulk themed jump house and a few little games for others to play. We had a good turnout and had lots of fun! Asher received SOOOO many gifts. So if your looking to buy him a present for Christmas, please, please I beg you nooooo toys!! ha ha! I have had to put half of his toys in the closet because there is just no room. Now I am running out of closet! All kidding aside, I appreciate every gift that he was given. It was truly wonderful to see people celebrate that milestone with us. Those of you who couldn't make it, we missed you and we thank you for your calls and gifts as well. I just want you all to know that I think my son is so blessed to have such amazing people in his life!! Thank you!!!!

The next day we decided to go to a pumpkin patch and have Asher pick a pumpkin. I love that kind of stuff so I just loved every minute of it. It was a really nice family afternoon. We road on a hayride, bought some snow cones, popcorn and apple dumplings (YUM!!) and headed back home.

My parents left on the following Tuesday, it was sad to see them go:( We will see them soon for Christmas though! I love the holidays and love to be with family on those special days.

Asher has grown so much! Its so amazing how much a little guy can grow and learn just in 4 weeks. Here is a list of the things I can think of:

  • A little over a month ago he started walking backwards, which is the cutest thing to watch. He does it very slow and steady
  • He is pointing at things
  • He just started to point to facial features, nose, mouth etc. etc.
  • He ate pizza for the first time today and LOVED it!! Just like his momma:)
  • He received his 12 months vaccines last week and got very sick from them. Oh how I hate vaccine day....
  • He loves cheese, yogurt and chicken
  • When he dances he goes in circles
  • His hair is blond. I shaved it again and underneath the brown was blond!
  • He loves to play peekaboo
  • He is starting to get interested in books (thank goodness! that's my passion)
  • He is starting to run
  • He loves to slide and play on the playground
  • He got his blood drawn today for some routine testing and he didn't even flinch. He smiled at the tech!
  • He has 6 teeth

That is all I can think of now, I'm sure there is more. He is just an amazing little boy that Ryan and I are blessed to have in our lives. He truly is a gift from our Lord. I pray that we raise him to love the Lord and be a honorable, righteous man. Thank you to all of you who have been with us through everything. Each of you are blessings to us. I am blown away by how giving you all are. I truly appreciate every gift, prayer, call and hug that we have received. May God Bless each of you.
