We have a Zoo?

I was asked by a friend to go the zoo. My first response was "we have a zoo?" Yes we do! It is quite small but it is nice. Asher had a lot of fun looking at all the animals. They were really close which was neat. We went with two other ladies and two other kids. He got along with everyone except in the car. It was an hour and half drive and both ways the kids screamed, mainly Asher. For some reason he will cry if another child is crying. It started about a month or so ago, I'm hoping he will grow out of it very soon!

We also went the county fair on friday with another friend. That was a lot of fun as well. He was able to see cattle, bunnys, roosters, turkeys, chickens, sheep, goats, horses and puppies. He took it all in seemed to enjoy it.

He has been growing so much! He is walking so well that he is almost able to run. It sounds like he is trying to say more words like Hi and Thank you. He is feeding himself most of the time (yeah!). He can throw the ball to you (which is super fun). He loves to play with his music toys such as his little piano and maracas. Asher has 6 teeth now and it looks like he is getting two more. I can not wait until teething is over. My little guy does not take teething well. His favorite food is apples (just like his daddy!). I just love watching him grow everyday, its so fun!

Asher was also able to watch his first Patriots game of the season with his dad. Daddy makes sure he has his Patriots jersey and hat on, no excuses! They were so cute sitting together. I can't wait till Asher understands whats going on. We will have a blast as a family watching the games.

In a couple of weeks is his first birthday. We can't believe time has gone by that fast. It has been such a blessing to have Asher in our lives. He has changed us for the better and we can't imagine our lives without him. I can't wait to see him grow and change. I'm so glad the Lord picked us to be his parents!
I hope you all had a wonderful day and I will post again soon with more pictures!

Oh Canada!

We have been back from Canada for over a week now and I finally have a few moments to post the pics! We had a wonderful time with grampy and grammy. Asher was able to do a lot of stuff that he can't at home. He was able to swing for the first time, which he loved! He was able to walk on really soft grass, which he hated;) It was so fun to go outside during the day! It always to hot at home to do this so we really enjoyed this part. Grammy bought a pool for him to play in, that was fun to watch. We would spread a blanket out and Asher would sit on that and not get off because he didn't want to touch the grass!

His uncle Brad was able to come for a short visit as well. Thank you so much Brad for taking time for us, we really appreciated it!

Grammy and grampy were able to spend lots of time with him. He mowed the lawn with grampy and walked around the yard with grammy. He was able to meet a lot of his aunts and uncles and his great grampy! He is one lucky kid to have wonderful family on both sides. Grammy had a BBQ for us the night before we left. There was yummy food and good company. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Here are some more pictures taken from the trip.

10 Months

Asher is 10 months old now! The time goes by so fast! He is 19 lbs and 29 1/4 in long. He is getting so big. He has also started dancing. It is soooo cute! Its more like head banging but he thinks he's dancing;) I am trying to get it on video but as soon as he hears it turn on he stops what he is doing and tries to take it away from me.

He has been walking more and more which is fun but scary. He is waving and shaking his head no. He also started pointing recently.

He is sporting another tooth, this one is on the top. The bad thing about this is that he has started to grind them together. Talk about nails on a chalk board! You want to run for cover when he does this. I guess its normal and hopefully he will grow out of it.

We went out to eat last night and he did so well. The only thing he did that probably annoyed others is that when he gets happy he screams at the top of his lungs. You can't get him to stop either. He just screams and screams and then laughs and laughs. I didn't see anyone else laughing so we may have been "that" family in the restaraunt.

We are leaving to go up north next weekend. We should have lots of fun! Grammy bought Asher lots of toys so he will be very happy! We are looking forward to being able to play outside midday without the sun scorching us. Pray for our travel, you never know with a baby how its going to go!

I have taken a lot of pics lately so enjoy! (the first one shows his scratches after falling down at church)

Moving right along

Time has been flying by for us. Asher keeps getting bigger and doing new things. He is so much fun! He has been walking more and more. Today he was playing at his crib and then decided to walk to me for a snuggle! He has been falling a lot though. He has had two pretty good goose eggs on his noggin the past week.

Last weekend we went on a mini vacation with our buddies Adam and Jackie. We had lots of fun! The boys got to play poker and golf while us girls shopped. It was nice but boy as it hot!!! I have no clue how people live there. Of course I forgot my camera and so did Jackie. She bought a disposable so I may have some pics to show eventually. I haven't been taking many pictures lately but I will do better.

Ryan is working his long days for the next little while so it will just be me and the little guy. I enjoy these times alone with Asher but we sure do miss daddy! Asher will say his name over and over towards the end of the week. It is so sweet.

Today we had to say goodbye to Adam and Jax because they are moving. It is always sad to see people you love move. They will be missed! Please pray that they get to their destination safely. Goodbye Friends, we will see you again!!

Ouch that hurts!

Asher has finally gotten some teeth! After 5 months of hard core teeth his bottom two decided to show. He has already bitten me. I didn't realize those teeth could be so sharp, they are like daggers! Its pretty cute to see him with his first two teeth. Hopefully the others follow quickly so we can get past some of the teething symptoms.

It seems like he is figuring out that I am momma and Ryan is dadda. Nothing beats him throwing himself at me and saying momma.

He loves to walk around the house. Last night he walked around (with me holding his hand) for about a half an hour. He just keeps going and going. He stands by himself and has even taken a few steps and then he falls. One time as he was standing by himself he tried to jump to me. I have been trying to take more pictures of him but for the past couple of days every picture had him with his eyes closed! We laughed together as I tried and tried to get one with his eyes open. Here is the proof:

"Mmmmmm food!!"

"He he!"

"Here is my Rober DeNiro impression"

"I had way too many carrots"

"No pictures, please"

"Your never going to get me!"

"You got me but I'm too far away! HA!"

"Almost...."

"Finally!!!!"
Enjoy your week!!

Its been a long time...

So I knew I was being a bad blogger when April was able to post two blogs since my last. I have been busy, but my busy doesn't compare to April's busy right now. Sorry to those waiting to see new pictures of Asher!

About a week and a half ago we had to take Asher to his first emergency room visit. The poor guy fell on a toy and split his tongue on the right side. There was lots of blood and lots of screaming. I had always heard parents say that accidents happen even when you are right next to them, I wasn't sure how that worked but now I know. He fell and just hit his head. There was nothing I could do but scoop him up and hold him.

We decided to take him in to see if he needed stitches because the cut was pretty nasty. The good Lord was looking out for us because we walked right in and saw a doctor within 10 minutes. They felt that because he was so young they were not going to stitch his tongue. So 10 minutes later we were back in the car with strict instructions to not let him put anything in his mouth except food. Ummmm.....how do you do that with a teething 8 month old?? We did our best and today his tongue is healed but you can tell where he cut it. I am praying that in time it will go back to normal. Sometimes you can see it very well other times you can't see it at all.

Asher was so brave through the whole thing! The only time he cried was when it happened. He didn't even cry when there was four people standing over him with a flashlight playing with his bleeding tongue. He handled it a lot better than I would have!

Other than that Asher has been growing and learning new things. He is talking a lot! He walks with you if you hold his hands. He LOVES music!!! If its musical he plays with it. Which is such a shock to Ry and I because..well..if you know us then you know why. He plays really well with other kids but he hasn't learned not to take toys from other kids. He thinks, like every other kid, if I want the toy I will just grab it no matter who's playing with it.

His hair color is the same as mine now. Unfortunately it has been thinning. I am praying that he is just growing out of his baby hair and that his real hair will be thick like his moms and dads. I have to give him a hair cut again because it is just out of control!

We have had a great couple of weeks because Ry had some time off of work. Asher just loves hanging out with dad. It was so sad this morning when Ry left because Asher cried:( He got over it pretty quick but it was so cool to see how much Asher already loves his daddy.

This weekend I am going on a woman's bible retreat so Ryan will be on 24/7 dad duty. He is pretty excited and I know the boys will have lots of fun. I will miss them though!

I think that's it from here. Here are some pictures, they were taken the day after the accident and you can see the injury. Enjoy your week!
