So much to tell!

Well its been quite awhile since a last posted (again). I was gently reminded by my sister! It seems like this past month lasted 6 hours. During that time I had my wisdome teeth removed, I was involved in a church outreach event and I attended a lifeway conference. My amazing hubby watched Asher quite a lot this past month. Asher LOVES his daddy time. They are so fun to watch. Ryan just loves his son so much, I am so blessed!

Asher has done quite a lot of growing. He is learning to talk more. He said "I love you!" (best thing ever). His new words are "No", "ball" and "done". Ryan has been teaching him how to play golf and so Asher thinks that everything can be used as a club. I mean everything. His swing is getting pretty good though:) Asher loves to play with bouncy balls, he also has a pretty mean throw.

He can buckle himself into his car seat now, which he just started doing one day. He climbs everywhere, which makes us nervous. He climbs onto our bed several different ways. He has fallen once, which of course scared me. He can open our doors, which is even scarier;) We have had to put safety locks on them so he won't escape. The weather is getting so nice that we have been going to the park and having lots of fun. He climbs all over the equipment.

We went to our Easter celebration on Saturday and we had lots of fun! Asher seemed to enjoy himself. We brought a friend from the retirement home in town with us. She enjoys playing with Asher. The first picture is of them. I had to post it because Asher's face cracks me up! During the egg hunt Asher just kind of stood there, then a little girl shared with him. He took the egg and threw it! So I guess he doesn't quite get it yet, but I'm sure next year will be different.

We have a lot going on this month but I am enjoying the busyness. I have lots of down time to go with it! Enjoy the pictures and God Bless you!

I blinked and he grew a foot!

Everyone keeps commenting that Asher looks like he grew in the past couple of weeks. I think he did too, but its so hard to tell when your with someone 24/7. He is growing out of his clothes, he wears 2T on top and 18 month on bottom. He is getting as tell as kids that are 2 years old. So I'm guessing he might be tall when he grows up:)

He has just been such a joy to be around. He makes us laugh! I love watching him explore and figure new things out. Several weeks ago he threw away his own trash! I had not yet taught him that but obviously he watched us do it. Since then I have had to watch him because he has thrown out our remotes and some toys.

Whenever the dogs bark he yells out "DOG!", that is one of his new words. He has also said his name a couple of times. For some reason he has stopped some of his signing. I'm not sure why and I really hope he starts it up again!

He is also starting to get really picky with food. It can be very frustrating. He does like chicken and ribs though, thank goodness! He doesn't like veggies unless they have been cooked into something else. If you cook veggies and mix it he still won't eat them. I hope that changes because its hard to get his daily veggie intake.

He has been giving hugs lately which I absolutely love!! Nothing beats your child running toward you yelling momma and then throwing his arm around you. I wish I could bottle that feeling and open it up any time I need a pick me up!

We are staying very busy, which I enjoy. Time just seems to fly by. Easter is fast approaching and I can't wait to take Asher to our Church celebration. This will be the first time Ryan will be able to come, I am so excited! I just have to find Asher a really cute outfit for Church. Shouldn't be too hard right;)

Well thats it from here. Enjoy the pictures and have a great week!! BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!!

Finally....an Update!

So I finally was able to sit down and write a post. Asher is so active its hard to find the time to sit down and concentrate. As I write he is wielding a hockey stick (yes Guy a hockey stick!) and chewing on the puck (yes, the set you gave him grampy!). He is pretty much just using the stick to hit things and yep he just fell down without dropping either object.

Anyways, we have had a very busy and exciting few months. Before we left for Christmas I had a cookie party for some of our friends. That was super fun and I thank April for the idea! Below are a few pictures. I believe I had about 20 people in the house. It was loud, fun and I can't wait to do it again!
Here is a picture of Asher before we left. He loves to snuggle with Uma on her pillow and he LOVES his vaccuum!
We went to my parents for Christmas and had tons of fun. My parents house was filled with tons of people, tons of food and tons of dogs! We played games and cooked together. Asher rode a donkey, we visited relatives, I met my new niece, we shopped and so much more. Ryan and I decided to bring our video camera but when we went to turn it on we found it was dead! So I don't have any pictures or video to show you:( Maybe my parents would be kind enough to hurry and send me their pictures???

We came back home and right away Ryan had to work. So Asher I got busy trying to get back into routine. We have been keeping busy and enjoying the crazy weather. One minute its so windy you can't go outside, then its 60+ with sunshine and today its raining!

Asher has grown so much since I last blogged. I will try to remember as much stuff as I can. He can count to three and hold up his pointer finger for one. He can climb up onto the couches and get down all by himself. He is learning sign language and has mastered two of them. He can blow kisses. He runs, points to what he wants and reads more. He enjoys taking baths. He uses utensils when eating. He loves spaghetti, bread, pizza and mac n' cheese. He puts his toys away (some of them). He eats, eats, eats and then eats some more:) He has started sticking his finger in his nose, YUCK! He pretend blows his nose. He loves to sit in the laundry basket while I push him around the house. He likes the playground and playing with other kids. Thats all I can think of right now plus he is trying to help me type.

Enjoy the videos! The one with the mirror was taken in October, but its just so cute! The other one is a new toy a friend has let us borrow and the last one is well you'll figure it out;)

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

I LOVE this time of year! My house is fully decorated inside and out. I would love to leave it up year round but my wonderful hubby would get a little upset with me. I love the music, the movies, the food and the family! Asher was so cute when he saw the tree. His eyes just lit up! He has touched the ornaments but he hasn't removed any or broken any. Hopefully we can go the whole season like that.

He has been growing up so much lately. I will do the list form again because it seems easier:)

He is getting another tooth on the bottom, to make the grand total 7 teeth!
He says uh-oh, bye, hi, thank you, mommy, daddy and doggie.
He waves hi and bye. When he hears the garage open he knows its daddy and immediately starts waving, its the cutest thing!
He likes to read books now! YES!
He LOVES to play hide and go seek and peek a boo.
He can climb all over the playground equipment. His favorite is the slide.
He is eating so much new food. He loves it all except for veggies:(
Well I tell him to put things back in their place he actually does it! disclaimer: Most of the time;)
He points at everything until you tell him what it is.
He is learning to use a utensil.
His favorite food is cheese, spaghetti and graham crackers.
He can open doors. Talk about trouble!
He can climb down off the bed and couch.
He is starting to hold on to my leg when he sees strangers.

That is all I can remember for now. He is just so much fun. He laughs all the time! Nothing makes my day more than hearing him laugh. He also gives the best kisses!
This month is going to be super busy for us. Probably for every one else too! Lots of party's and meetings to go too. We may be hosting our own Christmas party. For Christmas we will be heading out to my parents house. It should be lots of fun! Asher will be able to play with his cousins. I hope to take lots of pics! I hope you all have a wonderful December and enjoy Christmas, the day we celebrate our Savior being born in a manger!

For my MOPS group we do a fundraiser every year with a group of photographers. The take some pictures of your little ones and then later you decide if you want any. I had already decided that they were way to expensive and I wasn't going to buy any. Then I saw them and well, here ya go.....

I couldn't help myself. Do you blame me???
Let me know which you like, I have some extra:)

One Year Later

So much has happened since the last blog. Asher turned one!! We had his birthday on the 10th, which was actually Ryans birthday. My parents flew out to enjoy the week with us and help out for the birthday party. We had tons of fun!

When they first got in we drove down to this little artsy town that we had never been too. It was a really neat little place to walk around. We bought a few things there, had a drink at a restaraunt, almost died after we saw some prices on art work and then we decided to head back. My dad brought his wonderful GPS and used it to get us home since I didn't know where we were. Not only did that thing get us lost and add time to our traveling it almost killed us! Well not really but it took us through this winding narrow road up a mountain. There wasn't a railing to keep us from falling, it was just cliff. I just kept praying to Jesus. I knew he would save us;)

On Saturday was Ashers birthday party. We had lots of food, a Hulk themed jump house and a few little games for others to play. We had a good turnout and had lots of fun! Asher received SOOOO many gifts. So if your looking to buy him a present for Christmas, please, please I beg you nooooo toys!! ha ha! I have had to put half of his toys in the closet because there is just no room. Now I am running out of closet! All kidding aside, I appreciate every gift that he was given. It was truly wonderful to see people celebrate that milestone with us. Those of you who couldn't make it, we missed you and we thank you for your calls and gifts as well. I just want you all to know that I think my son is so blessed to have such amazing people in his life!! Thank you!!!!

The next day we decided to go to a pumpkin patch and have Asher pick a pumpkin. I love that kind of stuff so I just loved every minute of it. It was a really nice family afternoon. We road on a hayride, bought some snow cones, popcorn and apple dumplings (YUM!!) and headed back home.

My parents left on the following Tuesday, it was sad to see them go:( We will see them soon for Christmas though! I love the holidays and love to be with family on those special days.

Asher has grown so much! Its so amazing how much a little guy can grow and learn just in 4 weeks. Here is a list of the things I can think of:

  • A little over a month ago he started walking backwards, which is the cutest thing to watch. He does it very slow and steady
  • He is pointing at things
  • He just started to point to facial features, nose, mouth etc. etc.
  • He ate pizza for the first time today and LOVED it!! Just like his momma:)
  • He received his 12 months vaccines last week and got very sick from them. Oh how I hate vaccine day....
  • He loves cheese, yogurt and chicken
  • When he dances he goes in circles
  • His hair is blond. I shaved it again and underneath the brown was blond!
  • He loves to play peekaboo
  • He is starting to get interested in books (thank goodness! that's my passion)
  • He is starting to run
  • He loves to slide and play on the playground
  • He got his blood drawn today for some routine testing and he didn't even flinch. He smiled at the tech!
  • He has 6 teeth

That is all I can think of now, I'm sure there is more. He is just an amazing little boy that Ryan and I are blessed to have in our lives. He truly is a gift from our Lord. I pray that we raise him to love the Lord and be a honorable, righteous man. Thank you to all of you who have been with us through everything. Each of you are blessings to us. I am blown away by how giving you all are. I truly appreciate every gift, prayer, call and hug that we have received. May God Bless each of you.
